Security
Modern merchandise security and intelligent video surveillance are crucial for protecting stores and optimising retail processes.
The combination of modern merchandise security and data protection-compliant video surveillance is a central component of a holistic security concept in retail. Crosscan combines security solutions with data-based analysis to minimise losses and improve the shopping experience.
Electronic article surveillance (EAS) systems with antennas, labels and deactivators provide reliable protection against casual theft and can be flexibly adapted to the architecture and design of your store.
In addition, cloud-based, data protection-compliant video surveillance not only offers preventive protection against burglary, vandalism and assaults, but also enables real-time evaluation of incidents – mobile and location-independent.
Goods protection
The number of thefts in retail has remained consistently high for years, causing enormous inventory discrepancies. So-called casual thieves account for a large proportion of these thefts. They can usually be deterred very effectively by electronic article surveillance (EAS).
A classic merchandise security system for retail stores always consists of at least two antennas, security tags and other components such as deactivators/reactivators and detachers. Depending on customer requirements, the antennas can be placed conspicuously as stand antennas in the entrance area, making them highly visible and achieving a greater deterrent effect. For aesthetic reasons, however, more discreet placements – e.g. on the ceiling or in the floor – are also possible. The labels are available in different sizes and colours depending on the product group, e.g. as adhesive labels or as hard labels with plastic housings.
In terms of common technologies, electromagnetic (EM), radio frequency (RF) and acousto-magnetic (AM) systems can be distinguished from one another. In addition to their technical functionality, these systems differ primarily in terms of their respective detection ranges, the size of the labels that can be used and their purchase price. Depending on customer requirements and budget, we use systems from various renowned manufacturers. In addition to complete solutions, we can also offer you suitable components for existing systems.
In addition to professional design and project planning, Crosscan also offers you a global service network for installation and maintenance. On request, the antennas can also be integrated into the network and maintained remotely.
Cloud-based video surveillance
The implementation of continuous video surveillance (CCTV) is a helpful tool for reducing and investigating theft in retail stores. Experience has shown that such solutions in the interior of shops can also significantly minimise offences committed by employees and professional thieves. In addition, professional video surveillance serves to prevent robberies, burglaries and vandalism, as well as to secure evidence of criminal offences in general.
We use different cameras from renowned manufacturers for cloud-based and data protection-compliant video surveillance, depending on the architecture and main area of application. These include analogue cameras, digital cameras and IP cameras. In addition to the monetary factor, the choice of the appropriate camera technology is influenced by, among other things, the desired transmission type, resolution, colour scheme and lighting conditions at the surveillance location. Existing cabling often also influences the choice of product. A receiver, e.g. a recording device (recorder) and/or a monitor, is required to process and evaluate the video signals. In general, however, evaluation can also be carried out in real time via a mobile app.
